Event in aid of Jack’s Journey at The Wicked Witch in Ryhall
Hundreds of pounds will hopefully be raised at an event being held this weekend.
Maureen Pettener is organising the event at The Wicked Witch in Ryhall on Sunday from 4pm.
Money raised from the event will go to help six-year-old Jack Rickard, of Barnack, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
His family have launched an appeal to raise £60,000 to help Jack have life-changing surgery not currently available on the NHS.
At the event on Sunday, local band The Broken Stones will be playing live with Disco Eminence also providing dance music.
The Wicked Witch is also providing food for guests so all the money from the entry fee will go towards Jack’s Journey. Hindmarch garage has also sponsored the event.
Since setting out to organise the event, Maureen has been overwhelmed at how quickly it has grown.
Thanks to the generous support of local business, she so far has 47 raffle prizes, 36 tombola prizes and 14 auction lots. An associate of Batemans will be conducting the auction.
As people enter the pub they will be asked to donate a minimum of £5 to come in. This automatically allows them food. Raffle tickets are £1 each (£5 for a book of five).
Maureen is hoping to see as many people there as possible. She said: “It’s going crazy but that’s wonderful as we will hopefully raise lots of money!”
If anyone cannot make the auction but would like to make a bid, please phone Shona on 01780 740713.
