Oakham event marks Fairtrade Fortnight

To mark Fairtrade Fortnight 40 people enjoyed cakes and Fairtrade drinks at Oakham Methodist Church Hall on Saturday.

Two short films revealed how Colombian banana farmers and West African cocoa farmers were both suffering adverse effects of climate change which threatened future production.

Visitors saw how Fairtrade had provided access to training in more resilient and sustainable farming methods, transforming the lives of farmers and communities.
