Former Leicestershire Police officer accused of sexual misconduct faces hearing

An ex-police officer faces two allegations of sexual misconduct.

A former Leicestershire Police officer has been accused of sending sexually explicit images to two colleagues between September 2021 and June 2022 on an instant messaging app.

He has also been accused of kissing and touching a female colleague sexually without her permission.

This is said to have taken place on the evening of Tuesday, November 23 or in the early hours of Wednesday, November 24.

The police force has not named the officer in question to “protect the welfare of all involved”.

The allegations levelled against him would constitute a breach the standards of professional behaviour expected from police officers if proven, a Leicestershire Police spokesperson has said.

The force has called the former police officer before a gross misconduct hearing.

This is set to take place between Tuesday (August 22) and Friday (August 25) next week.

The meeting will be held in private, the force added, with a report to be published afterwards detailing the outcome.
