Fallen tree causes power loss and road closures in Tallington

Road closed.
Road closed.

Villagers were left without power after a 200-year-old tree blew down in high winds.

The tree in the garden of a home in Main Road, Tallington, toppled over on Saturday afternoon. It brought down electricity cables and a garden wall, landing across the road.

Homes were left without power while the cables were repaired and the road was closed until the tree was cleared.

On Twitter Gemma Stent (‏@itsme_gemmavee) posted a photo of the damage and said: “Fallen tree (my parents’) going right across the road. No access through Tallington today or tomorrow.”
