Stamford runners raises hundreds tackling The Wall




Two runners raised hundreds of pounds for charity after tackling their first ultra marathon together.

Stamford Cub leaders John Burrows and Paul Scholes, pictured above, entered The Wall on Saturday with the aim of running 69 miles within 24 hours alongside Hadrian's Wall.

The route goes from Carlisle to Gateshead.

John completed the challenge in 19hrs 12mins but Paul was forced to pull out at 62 miles.

Paul raised £1,030 for Histiocytosis UK and John raised £795 for the Evergreen Care Trust.
