Stamford charity shops appeal for donations of unwanted presents
Charity shop volunteers have called on people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents to a good cause.
Age UK and the British Heart Foundation have both issued an appeal for donations as they head into a new year.
Everything from the DVD you'll never watch to the book you've read and the jumper that won't fit can be donated to any of the charity shops in Stamford, Bourne and Rutland.
Anna Gilbert is manager of the Stamford branch of Age UK.
She said: "Our shop raises more than £85,000 a year for the charity which is fantastic.
"I'd like to thank everyone for the donations we have received this year to help raise this money.
"Now is the perfect time for people to donate to charity as they start to think about a spring clean."
The British Heart Foundation offers a free collection service for anyone can can't get to its shops.
Spokesman Allison Swaine-Hughes said: “Your items will be saved from landfill and help us raise funds for vital research."
