Fire-hit Bulwick Village Shop owned by Camille Ortega McLean is likely to re-open at the end of March or end of April

A village shop gutted by fire almost a year ago is likely to re-open in the coming months.

Bulwick Village Shop was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday February 12 last year and owner Camille Ortega McLean was feeling positive.

She said: “It’s looking like the end of March or early April.

“The thatching has been done but it’s still drying out.

“It’s been a long drag but we will get there.”

Camille, who also produces handmade preservatives and chutneys under the Picked Shop brand, added her online shop was ‘very active’ with people still buying jars and hampers.
