George Clarke and Amazing Productions film at Stamford Stone for Channel 4 show Remarkable Renovations
A family-run business is to feature on a popular television property programme later this year.
Architect and TV presenter George Clarke visited Stamford Stone last week with a film crew from Amazing Productions for an upcoming series of Remarkable Renovations.
The episode, to be aired on Channel 4 this summer, features the restoration of a cottage in Norfolk, including new limestone flooring.
So the crew contacted Stamford Stone for a segment on limestone quarrying.
"Lincolnshire is really well known for its limestone and the pits at Clipsham are well known for architectural stuff so they approached us to do a piece," said director Laura Green.
"They wanted to know how we quarry in the UK, and they particularly liked the sustainable aspect and how we restore areas of the quarries back to natural habitats.
"It was good exposure for the company, particularly the work our operatives do, but also for the industry as a whole."
The day’s filming began at the company's Clipsham Bidwells quarry before visiting its production yard in Helpston.
The show will include debut screen interviews for Laura and quarry manager Tom Arlow.
"I was really nervous and totally out of my comfort zone, but they put me at ease and told me to forget the cameras were there," said Laura.
"I am a fan of their programmes and it's really interesting to see how it all works behind the scenes and how much work goes into it.
"It will be a five to eight-minute piece and took nine to 10 hours to film."
The company regularly host visits from architects, with a group of architecture students due up from London university UCL later this month.
