Successful first year for flights business 'JustJet' set up by former Oakham School pupil
An international jet-set business set up by a former Oakham School pupil has had success in its first year.
Charles Robinson was 17-years-old when he set up JustJet in October 2018 during his final year at Oakham School.
The business began by selling 'empty seats' on chartered aircraft that are making journeys without any passengers.
Speaking to the Mercury after the launch of his business, Charles said: "To give an example, if someone charters a London-based private plane to fly them from Barcelona back to London, the plane will be empty on its way out to Spain.
"I would then sell seats on the London to Barcelona flight, meaning it is no longer flying with just the pilot on board."
The business launched with a London to Dubai flight on a nine-seater aircraft.
Charles, who now lives in Belgravia in London and runs the business on a day-to-day basis, said: "The key to a first year with any business is survival and we've done more than just that which is great.
"We are expanding into key areas in the Asian market such as Hong Kong to Shanghai.
"We want further growth and the key part now is expanding and offering more services to our clientèle."
He also said that he hopes JustJet can expand into yacht transfer, sale and acquisition as well as the purchase and sale of aircraft.
Charles has ambitions of becoming an international property developer, but hopes to remain a part of JustJet's future.
