Roads closed in Rutland after rain causes flooding




A number of roads have been closed after persistent rain caused some areas to flood.

Rutland County Council has issued a warning to people about places that are worst affected.

Its highways team will continue to monitor roads and water levels throughout the night.

  • Cow Lane, Whissendine - closed due to flooding
  • Road to Tixover Grange (just off the A47) - standing water. Road open with warning signs. Passable with care
  • Hambleton Road, Egleton, at the junction with the A6003 - standing water. Road open with warning signs. Passable with care
  • A6121 between Ketton and Tinwell (outskirts of Ketton) - standing water. Road open with warning signs. Passable with care
  • Cottesmore Road, between Ashwell and Cottesmore - standing water. Road open with warning signs. Passable with care

A driver was rescued this month after they became trapped in flood water
