Former Lincolnshire County Council leader vows to hold Reform to account as he retains seat
The former county council leader has vowed to hold Reform to account as he retained his seat.
Ahead of the result, Coun Martin Hill (Con) predicted he’d “squeak in” to retain his Folkingham Rural seat but said this will be his last term.
On the podium after the result was announced he said: “The Reform Party will be in charge of Lincolnshire County Council when the final results are seen so I congratulate them on their success. Those of us who are in opposition will be giving advice but also making sure we hold them to account so we’ll see how they go on.”
All the results are here as we have them
The full Lincolnshire County Council results are yet to be announced but his remarks come after a devastating night for the Tories with Reform sweeping the board in many areas.
Reform’s Dame Andrea Jenkyns also convincingly won in the race to become Greater Lincolnshire’s first mayor.
