Appeal to help puppy at Daramy Pet Rescue in Swinstead
A pet rescue centre is appealing for people to donate towards an operation for a puppy under its care.
Jill Halliday runs Daramy Pet Rescue in Swinstead, which is a non-profit home-based rescue.
The operation is for a six month old male border collie named Preston and is on Thursday (October 7).
Jill said: She added: “He’s a typical crazy collie pup”
He was rehomed after biting his previous owners without what they thought any warnings or reasons.
He was taken to full body X-rays which showed flattening of the shoulders on both of his front legs which is the cause of his biting.
East Midlands Referral Vets have since said that Preston needs OCD lesions on both shoulders.
This will cost £3,750 and so far Jill has managed to raise £2,145.
She said: “The support we have had is amazing, we are a self-funded kennels and we normally will pay ourselves however when we saw the large amount we panicked a bit.”
Jill would normally pay any vet fees herself however cannot afford this much in such a short time.
She said: “The dogs we foster live as part of our family, they live in our home not in kennels.”
