Plea for funding for short film that will reunite Coronation Street couple Ashley Peacock and wife Claire and raise money for The Phoebe Research Fund
A production company is looking for funding for a short film starring three named actors.
Psychotastic Productions was founded last year by Coronation Street actor Steven Arnold and his partner Zoe Crowson in a bid to find long-term funding streams for Zoe’s charity The Phoebe Research Fund.
Kes, shown at Stamford Corn Exchange in October, was the first production from the company and now Steven and Zoe have decided to produce a number of short films, starting with Annual Review.
They now need £2,000 to make the film and anything raised above this is profit and 25 per cent of all profit from the company goes directly to the charity which funds research into a rare genetic disorder called recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. Zoe’s daughter Phoebe was born with the condition, which causes the skin to blister and shear at the slightest touch.
Annual Review, written by Peter Kane and Carl Street, will reunite Steven Arnold with Julia Haworth, who played his Coronation Street wife Claire Peacock. Robert Haythorne, best known for Tyrannosaur, The Selfish Giant and Waterloo Road, will also star alongside Steven and Julia and writer Peter Kane.
The psychological thriller film follows the story of office worker Terry, who takes matters into his own hands when his annual review with his female manager doesn’t go as planned.
Once the film has been made, Zoe and Steven plan to enter Annual Review into various national and international film festivals to raise vital awareness.
The film will be made at Bourne-based firm Pilot Fish, a long-term supporter of The Phoebe Research
Fund.
