Covid figures for South Kesteven and Rutland
More people have died of covid in the area as cases continue to rise.
In the past week, 345 people have tested positive for covid in Rutland bringing the total number of cases in the pandemic to 11,065.
The seven-day infection rate stands at 862 cases per every 100,000 people, which is slightly lower than the national average of 899.
One further death has been recorded within 28 days of a positive covid test.
This latest fatality brings the total of deaths recorded in Rutland to 82.
A total of 34,238 people in the county have had their first covid vaccine, with 32,632 people who are double-jabbed.
In South Kesteven, 1,416 further cases have been recorded this week with14,059 tests taken in the district this week.
The seven-day infection rate currently stands at 1,049 cases per every 100,000 people, higher than the national average.
About 82 per cent of South Kesteven's population are double-jabbed, with 67 per cent having had their booster.
This week, two further deaths within 28 days of a positive covid test have been recorded.
A total of 330 people have died in the district during the pandemic .
It comes as people in England who have a cough or cold are being advised to “stay home and avoid contact with other people” under new Government guidance on Covid-19.
The legal requirement to self-isolate after a positive Covid-19 test in England ended on February 24.
From tomorrow (April 1), free lateral flow tests will no longer be widely available.
