Covid figures for Rutland and South Kesteven

Three further deaths have sadly been recorded in South Kesteven.

Figures released by Public Health England, show that 261 cases have been recorded in the district this week.

However, there has been a drop in tests taken with only 5,652 people recording their result.

The latest death brings the number of fatalities in the pandemic to 344.

In the past week, 65 covid cases have been recorded within the county bringing the total to 11,641 throughout the pandemic.

However, after the rules on coronavirus testing were relaxed, many people have stopped taking them. This week 1,826 Covid-19 tests were taken by people in the county- only four per cent of the 40,000-person population.

No deaths have been recorded in the past week, standing at 85.
