Covid figures for Rutland and South Kesteven

Five further covid deaths have been recorded in South Kesteven.

Figures released by Public Health England, show that 140 positive cases have been recorded in the district this week.

However, there has been a drop in tests taken with only 4,755 recorded results.

The latest deaths in South Kesteven brings the number of fatalities in the pandemic to 352.

Confirmed covid cases have also fallen in Rutland.

In the past week, 59 people took a test which showed a positive result.

Just over 11,700 cases have been confirmed in the county since the start of the pandemic out of a population of about 40,000.

No new deaths have been recorded in the county. The number of people who lost their lives within 28 days of a positive test stands at 85.
