Easton Walled Gardens to receive award from National Garden Scheme for 20 years of fundraising
The owner and custodian of Easton Walled Gardens is set to receive an award for 20 years of fundraising.
Ursula Cholmeley is due to receive the award from the National Garden Scheme, which helps nursing and health charities, on Thursday.
She will be given an engraved garden hand fork by the Lincolnshire county organiser, Lesley Wykes.
Easton is a classic rural estate that has been owned and managed by the Cholmeley family since 1561.
Visitors can see the ongoing revival of these gardens, which are set in 12 acres of parkland with the River Witham meandering through.
The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England and Wales every year and raises huge amounts of money through admissions and the sale of tea and cakes.
