The Barber's Chop in Stamford Morrisons in Uffington Road

People will now be able to tie in their weekly shop with a haircut as a barbers’ opens in a town supermarket.

The Barber’s Chop welcomed customers into its premises in Stamford Morrisons in Uffington Road for the first time on Tuesday.

With a barbers’ already in South Street, Bourne, owners Clare and Tony Kirkby hope to make getting a quick trim more accessible for Stamford residents.

“When you want to get a haircut you can never park anywhere,” said Tony.

“We wanted a location where we could expand the business as well as there being ample free parking with easy access and we are open until 8am to 8pm which wouldn’t necessarily work in a high street.”

The couple will also allow parents to drop their children off for a hair cut and pick them up after they have finished shopping.

Barber’s Chop in Bourne opened three-and-a-half years ago, and following it’s success, a business in Stamford was the next logical step.

Tony, 49, said: “This has been in the planning since June so it’s taken a long time to get here.

“We are very excited but nervous.”
