Hottest day of the year in Stamford, Rutland Bourne and the Deepings as Friday's temperature hits 31C

The Stamford area is set to sizzle tomorrow (Friday) on what looks set to be the hottest day of the year.

According to the Met Office, the area - including Rutland and Bourne - will enjoy lots of sunshine and a top temperature of 31C.

However, the current forecast says there is the chance of a spot of thundery rain at 4pm.

The weather is expected to turn fresher again over the weekend with sunny spells and a scattering of showers.

Highs of 23 degrees are expected on Saturday and 22 degrees on Sunday.
