McDonald's reopens 39 sites including Glinton branch and hopes all drive-thrus will be trading in June
If you've missed having a Big Mac during the lockdown, you may not have much longer to wait.
Fast food giant McDonald's has announced it is re-opening nearly 40 drive-thru sites, including six in Peterborough, today. The Glinton one is among those, as well as branches in Boongate, Hampton, Bourges Boulevard, Morrisons and Eye Green.
And it hopes to have all its drive-thru branches, including those in Stamford and Bourne open again by early June.
In a series of social media posts, the company said: "These pilot restaurants were all chosen as they are close to one of our distribution centres as we continue to prepare our supply chain for reopening."
They continued: "To help our teams, we’re encouraging you to make contactless payments and cap spend at £25.
"We’re still adjusting to smaller teams, new procedures and social distancing, so please bear with us, things will take a little longer."
McDonald's says it is expecting high demand and will close sites if queues cause wider disruption or put staff and customers at risk.
