Oakham golfer Andrew Queen and Masternaut colleague Neil Garbutt complete 16 hours of golf for Macmillan Cancer Care




Golfers spent more than 16 hours on the course to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

Andrew Queen and Neil Garbutt set themselves the challenge of playing four rounds of golf in four different counties during a single day.

Following a 3.45am wake up call, they teed off at 5.05am at Oundle Golf Club and ended at Luffenham Heath at 9.30pm.

They also visited Burghley Park and Peterborough Milton Golf Club during the challenge.

The colleagues work for Masternaut and were raising money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

Andrew, who lives in Oakham, said: “We are delighted to have so far raised just over £3,800 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“The charity does a fantastic job and we are delighted to do a little something to help.”

Andrew was inspired to support Macmillan after losing a friend to cancer last year. His stepmother is also going through cancer treatment.

The colleagues completed their Longest Day Golf Challenge on June 24.
