Stamford carer hosts Christmas party for clients
A carer has gone the extra mile to spread some festive cheer for her clients.
Kerry Regis runs her own business providing care for 13 people in and around Stamford.
On Sunday she hosted a party for them to come together and celebrate the Christmas season.
They gathered at Clare Close in Stamford where Kerry's partner Nick Howard cooked a three course lunch and her children joined together with friends to sing for the guests.
Kerry said: "I couldn't have done it without Nick's help and support. Everyone enjoyed the party and it was lovely to get them all together "
The guests were aged between 20 and 100.
Some had insisted on paying Kerry for her efforts, but she refused to take any money so collected charity donations instead.
She said: "We didn’t want any money as it was our present to them, but a few of them refused to come unless we took something so I suggested they gave £5 to charity."
Kerry chose to support the Stamford Kiwanis which organises Santa's sleigh ride around town each year and hosts a Christmas party for children who are ill, bereaved or just deserve a treat.
Kerry added: "My three eldest children used to attend the party after they lost their father in 2015. It was wonderful for them so that had to be the charity to put back into."
Kiwanis member Andrew Totten attended the party to collect a cheque.
The party raised £136 but additional donations have taken the total to £155.
