Rutland continues to make its mark on the culinary world with four restaurants appearing in the latest Michelin Guide.
Hitchen’s Barn, based in Oakham, received a Bib Gourmand status for offering a high quality experience at a reasonable price.
The Michelin Guide highlights its shabby chic bar with a "fiercely seasonal" menu.
The Olive Branch at Clipsham and the Wheatsheaf at Greetham both received a Michelin Plate grading, which represents a business that "simply serves good food".
The Olive Branch was noted for its character and rustic British dishes while the Wheatsheaf was celebrated for its desserts and the "charming couple" who run it.
Hambleton Hall received one Michelin star in the guide.
It says: "Head chef Aaron Patterson has headed the kitchen since 1992 and his passion and commitment remain palpable."
Further afield, the Six Bells at Witham on the Hill received a Michelin Plate rating for its hand-crafted pizzas and sophisticated main menu.
