High Sheriff of Rutland donates blood to show his support

A dedicated blood donor, the High Sheriff of Rutland, turned heads in Oakham by giving his 36th donation dressed in full ceremonial dress.

Andrew Brown, 51, from Caldecott, became High Sheriff of Rutland in April this year and wanted to make a special show of his support for blood donation.

He said: “I urge everyone to consider giving blood – it’s a great way to be a hero without having to do anything brave!”
