Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue called to house fire in Victoria Gardens off West Street in Oundle
Firefighters battled a serious blaze in the centre of a town.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue was called to a fire in Victoria Gardens off West Street, Oundle in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, July 7).
The fire caused significant damage to the roofs of two homes as well as an outdoor seating area.
Two fire engines from Corby – including an aerial appliance – as well as crews from Thrapston, Raunds and Burton Latimer attended the scene.
Wearing breathing apparatus firefighters used 45ml jets to douse the flames.
West Street was closed by police during the operation to put the fire out but was reopened at about 5am once the fire had been put out.
Crews have continued to damp down the scene and monitor temperatures throughout the morning.
No injuries were reported, and at this stage it is not known how the fire was started.
A fire inspection will be held today to try and determine the cause.
