The Cottesmore Hunt and For Rutland gather in Cutts Close, Oakham
Cottesmore Hunt members and supporters gathered in Oakham for their Boxing Day meet.
Despite opposition to the hunt which has been taking place for 354 years, about 70 people rode.
The turn out of supporters was the same as previous years - about 500 people.
Clare Bell, the hunt secretary, described the meet as 'fantastic', adding: "It was nice to see the support from Oakham and Rutland."
Volunteers from the charity ‘For Rutland’ collected funds at the meet and talked about their support for people with long-term health conditions.
The charity had 15 volunteers who spoke to people making their way to the meet in Cutts Close.
Trish Ruddle, who set up For Rutland, said: "The day was absolutely excellent.
"I'm terribly pleased with support there was on the day."
"It's an excellent thing for us having a cross section of the public; it's not only people from Rutland but people who come a long way to support the hunt," she added.
Through donations on the day, For Rutland collected £1,150.
Trish said: "The generosity shows how important For Rutland is."
Clare added: "It's fantastic, a real tribute to the people's generosity who attend the meet."
A group of about 15 people from the Hertfordshire and Northants Hunt Saboteurs also attended.
The saboteurs were 'mainly silent' while carrying anti-hunt placards, however, some exchanges were made between them and the hunt supporters.
