Oakham-based salon and clothing company Uncommon JSB dresses contestants on Channel 4 show Hunted

A couple will be dressing contestants on a Channel 4 show.

TV series Hunted will be getting a touch of Rutland as the Oakham-based salon and clothing company, Uncommon JSB, will dress the cast.

Hunted, which has series with celebrities and members of the public, follows a group of people as they evade skilled intelligence agencies to see how difficult it is to stay off the radar as a fugitive.

Owners of Uncommon JSB, Nikki and James Thomas were not previously avid viewers of the show but had seen clips of it on social media.

James, 43, said: "We first got involved with some of the team from Hunted through networking on social media platforms.

"Our following is quite heavy with veterans and service personnel including the police force. I believe 50 per cent of the Hunted crew are ex-serving officers."

The married couple set up the clothing company after the pandemic forced the temporary closure of the hairdressers in Gaol Street.

Keen to inspire people to be themselves, they continued to use the brand name Uncommon JSB.

James, who also works overseas conducting humanitarian mine clearance, said: "We are both delighted and proud of the fact that our brand has made a connection with people from all walks of life, to coin our phrase we are all 'uncommon' in our own way and we should all embrace this each and every day.

"We believe that we stood out because we have a large variety of styles that can be mixed and matched by the wearer hence 'uncommon, be you, not them'.

"We ask the customer, why would you want to be anything else when you can be you?"

Nikki and James are keen to see their brand logo on national TV, and hope the production company will continue to use the clothes for future seasons.

The Uncommon JSB clothing has already been worn by the Hunted team alongside comedian David Walliams, while contestants are set to be given the clothes as filming begins this week.

James praised 33-year-old Nikki for the amount of work put into running the clothing company alongside working as a hairdresser and looking after two children.
