YouTube inventor Colin Furze shares inspiration with Ryhall CE Primary Academy pupils

An inventor shared some of his ideas with pupils in a bid to spark their imaginations.

Colin Furze, from Stamford, took a break from sharing videos to his 12 million YouTube subscribers to visit Ryhall CE Academy to launch the school’s own invention challenge.

The children were amazed by all the inventions Colin shared including the Toast-A-Pult, which catapulted toast from a toaster at teachers; gadget crutches, specially adapted crutches that include lights, a handy grabber that beeps when you reverse; and Magneto shoes, boots which are magnetic and allow the user to walk upside down on metal surfaces, to name but a few.

Filled with inspiration, the children were then challenged to invent a product that would solve a problem or help someone do an everyday job. The children also asked Colin questions and got tips on inventing.

Emma Jagger and Faye Johnson who organised the day, said: “Colin’s enthusiasm for inventing totally engaged the children and inspired them all to become budding inventors too.
