Investigation works in South Fen Road, Bourne
Road investigation works are set to cause some disruption to drivers.
Lincolnshire County Council, which is in charge of highways, has announced plans to upgrade South Fen Road in Bourne.
Before the repair work takes place there must be an investigation to find the exact location and depths of underground utility services.
This will start on Monday, March 13 and is predicted to end on Friday, March 17, with contractors working on the site from 7.30am to 5pm.
Coun Richard Davies (Con), executive member for highways, said: “These works are the first on-site phase that are necessary on roads like this so that we can plan and design the best way to improve the road surface.
“Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to carry out these investigations without some level of disruption with works of this nature.
"Ultimately, these works lead to better roads for the residents and businesses in the area and I would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst the investigation is underway.”
The road will be closed from a point 300m east of its junction with Cherry Holt Road to a point approx 1,000m from its junction with Cherry Holt Road.
The diversion route will be on the A151 Cherry Holt Road and Spalding Road to Pode Hole via Twenty and Pinchbeck West, the Delph and Counter Drain Drove to Tongue End, South Fen Road and vice versa.
Access will be given to business employees and residents within the working area via the official diversion route.
