Julian Evans attempts to climb Mount Everest in support of The Matt Hampson Foundation as part of the True Adventurers Grand Slam
A Rutlander is attempting to climb Mount Everest as part of a wider challenge.
Julian Evans is taking on the True Adventurers Grand Slam.
Competitors have to reach the north and south pole and climb the highest mountain on each continent.
Only 15 people have ever completed it.
Julian has arrived at base camp and aims to reach the summit around May 18.
If successful he then only needs to tackle Aconcagua in Argentina and Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia
Julian, who now lives in Great Easton, is raising money for The Matt Hampson Foundation. It supports people with serious injury or disability.
He said: “It is both incredibly satisfying and a great adventure to conquer some of the world's greatest exploration challenges whilst raising money for worthy causes."
