Bourne Elsea Park Academy gets book donation thanks to Usborne book organiser Leigh and Kier, Larkfleet and Barratt Homes

A mother organised a community book pledge to give something back to the primary school her son loves.

Leigh Marlow’s son Jude started at Elsea Park CE Primary Academy last year and as an independent Usborne book organiser, Leigh knew how she could help the school.

She contacted housing developers building at Elsea Park and Kier, Larkfleet Homes and Barratt Homes donated a total of £600.

In addition, Usborne agreed to donate books worth £360 and Leigh donated her commission, taking the total value to more than £1,000.

Leigh said: “Being able to have these books means so much to the school, which has had to extend due to the growing housing estate.”

Leigh visited the school with Jude and Lucy Lee from Kier to present the money - Kier donated £300 - to the acting head of school, Peter Bellamy.

Mr Bellamy was delighted with amount of books the donations were able to provide for the school.

Leigh has also recently presented some second-hand children’s books to Wood Grange Care in Bourne.
