Letter of the week - Burghley's plans for the Stamford North development
A letter in response to Burghley's plans for the Stamford North development.
Having read about the developments going on in and around Stamford, I really think that very vital points have been missed, and not enough thought has been put into the developments going on, and to come.
First of all, with all the new homes being built comes people. All well and good. But what about people’s health and wellbeing?

Yes, Stamford has two doctors’ surgeries but they run by Lakeside Healthcare Stamford, which is under review by the Care Quality Commission for failure to give patients the care and safety they are entitled to. How can they care for or cope with more patients coming into Stamford and the surrounding areas?
Another point is that more families and people will need hospital care. Stamford has a perfectly good hospital, which is being left to go to rack and ruin why? Peterborough Hospital is bursting at the seams now, so how can they cope with more patients?
Another point is that Stamford has a perfectly good ambulance station which is going to ruin and does not have enough ambulances. How is the NHS and ambulance service going to cope with more and more people moving into Stamford?
I wonder if these points have been taken into consideration when planning all these wonderful homes? The question is, has Burghley got the solution for this, or is it only interested in making money?
