A1 closed between Stretton and South Witham after lorries crash

The A1 northbound closed near Stamford after two lorries crashed.

The accident was understood to have happened at about 12.30pm.

The carriageway was shut between South Witham and Stretton. Queues reached seven miles back to Tinwell.

Emergency services have not said whether anyone was injured.

UPDATE: the carriageway has now reopened.
