Man pleads guilty to bomb hoax calls to police forces including Lincolnshire and Leicestershire




A man who falsely reported bombs had been placed in public buildings has appeared in court.

Paul Fisher, 61, was charged with nine counts of bomb hoax and communicating false information and one count of wasting police time.

The charges relate to calls that he made to several UK police forces including Lincolnshire and Leicestershire Police on Monday (May 5) where he claimed that bombs had been placed at numerous premises, including airports and railway stations.

He was also charged with one count of wasting police time, which related to a call about a Lincolnshire bank.

Fisher, of St Peter’s Path, Oadby, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday, May 7) where he pleaded guilty to all offences.

He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on June 4.
