Manufacturer from Easton poised to sign up two new apprentices
An Easton company is looking to recruit two engineering apprentices.
Food manufacturer PAS (Grantham) is on the lookout for two apprentices to join its team.
The firm, which is a subsidiary business of McCain Foods, offers four-year multi-skilled engineering apprenticeships to candidates aged 16 to 24.
Throughout the scheme, apprentices work with the company’s engineers on a range of engineering tasks in the factory.
They are also given a dedicated mentor who supports them on all areas of the role.
PAS (Grantham) apprentices also benefit from studying towards industry recognised qualifications at Grantham College, including NVQ Levels 2 and 3, a BTEC and a Higher National Certificate (HNC).
Current second year engineering apprentice, Michael Butters (19) said: “If I had to give advice to anyone thinking about an engineering apprenticeship, I’d say don’t think twice.
“You get a great balance of classroom learning and real life work experience, and it’s perfect if you enjoy problem solving and thinking on your toes.”
He added: “Before I started looking at apprenticeships I didn’t know much about engineering. I’d done an ICT course at college but knew it wasn’t for me.
“I knew I liked doing hands-on, practical tasks and fixing things, so when I found out about the PAS (Grantham) engineering apprenticeship I thought it would be a great first step into a career, doing something I found interesting.
“I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship.
“I learn something new every day and there’s never a dull moment.
The deadline for applications is April 1. The successful candidates will begin their apprenticeships in September 2016.
