Marks and Spencer’s Bridge Street store in Peterborough to close
The Marks and Spencer store in Bridge Street is set to close, with all city centre business set to move to the Queensgate branch.
The Bridge Street store will close early next year, following a large revamp of the Queensgate branch. All the staff at the Bridge Street shop will be relocated to Queensgate.
Store Manager, Emma Burrell, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the news that we will be modernising our Peterborough Queensgate store. Not only will the new décor and layout conveniently bring our Clothing and Food offer under one roof, rather than split across two stores, but we are also delighted to introduce several new departments, a second floor and a new 90-seat café.
“We are very excited by the changes, which will really enhance the customer shopping experience. This investment demonstrates M&S’s commitment to Peterborough and its customers, and we look forward to welcoming shoppers to the unveiling early next year.”
M&S Peterborough Queensgate will remain open throughout the refurbishment works, with the Home and Kidswear departments, along with the Coffee Shop, temporarily moving to M&S Bridge Street in the Autumn. The closure of M&S Bridge Street will coincide with the completion of the modernisation at M&S Peterborough Queensgate.
