BBC Inside Out films at Stamford McDonald's ahead of Rutland County Council meeting
McDonald's in Stamford is set to feature in a BBC television programme.
On Tuesday last week (January 7) BBC Inside Out came to Stamford's branch of McDonald's in Ryhall Road to interview franchisee Matt Jarrett.
After plans for the first McDonald's in Rutland made national headlines, the broadcasting company wanted to find out more about the benefits of the restaurant to the community.
BBC Inside Out films real-life stories and investigations and the East Midlands version is hosted by BBC news presenter Lukwesa Burak.
The show will air on Monday, February 3 and will include the announcement of whether Rutland will be getting a McDonald's - although that will be available much sooner in the Mercury and on our website.
Stamford's McDonald's has also been making a name for itself on social media recently.
This month, the McDonald's app offered free breakfast McMuffins on Sunday, January 5.
However, after finding out local care home residents couldn't get into the store to claim a free breakfast, McDonald's business manager, James Garner, bagged them up free McMuffins.
A McDonald's spokesman said: "James is very much about giving back to the community."
