A151 Spalding Road in Twenty near Bourne to close for two weeks of roadworks

Works to replace the worn out carriageway on the A151 Spalding Road are now expected to take two weeks instead of four, subject to suitable weather.

The maintenance work will take place between the solar panel farm and Station Road in Twenty.

A full 24/7 road closure will be in place throughout the duration of the project, which will commence on August 3.

Coun Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "Over the past few weeks we've worked closely with the scheme's contractor, Tarmac, to identify a more shorter, more efficient programme.

"As a result, we now expect this project to be complete in two weeks instead of four.

"This will hopefully come as good news to those that use the A151 Spalding Road since it means the 24/7 road closure will be in place for half the time we originally anticipated."

The diversion route for the closure will be via A151 / A15 / A1175 / A16, and vice versa.
