More than £10,000 raised in aid of Phoebe Research

A Stamford based charity has reached its first big milestone, raising more than £10,000 to help fund research into the rare genetic skin disease Epidermolysis Bullosa.

Thanks to a huge number of generous donations from the local community, mum, Zoe Crowson has been able to raise a fantastic amount for the Phoebe Research Fund, a charity which she started last year in aid of her little girl Phoebe, aged six, who suffers from the skin disease.

Zoe said: “It’s so nice to feel supported by everyone. It gives hope in finding a cure.”

Following the charity auction and dinner held at The William Cecil Hotel in Stamford, a total of £5,500 was raised, including funds from the raffle.

Donations from local businesses, companies and schools have also helped to raise the funds.

Richard Jones of Pilotfish and William Bryant of Bryant Wealth Management joined forces this year for their annual Charity Golf Day to raise money for the Phoebe Research Fund.

An amazing £800 was raised from the event and Pilotfish has decided to make the fund their charity of the year.

Fine & Country also donated £100 towards the research fund, along with Pots of Fun who raised another £230.

Phoebe’s primary school, Copthill School in Uffington also raised a total of £280 for the charity.
