Stamford MP Gareth Davies joins volunteers from the Pride of Stamford Litter Pickers

Stamford's MP has praised a team of volunteers who go out in all weathers to keep the town tidy.

Gareth Davies joined the Pride of Stamford Litter Pickers on Saturday morning as they did their usual tidy up around town.

Volunteer Neil McIvor was delighted to be joined by Mr Davies and took the opportunity to highlight the town's problems.

He said: "We took it in turns to litter pick with him so we could all chat about litter and how best to deal with it.

"He was a very nice bloke and even though it was windy and rainy, he still turned up and was more than happy to help."

Mr Davies said: “I was delighted to support the Pride of Stamford Litter Pickers and to join them on Saturday.

"These volunteers care deeply about our community and keep Stamford clean and tidy for the benefit of all.”
