Fun and Funky Living in North Street, Stamford to close

A quirky antiques business has outgrown its home in Stamford.

Fun and Funky Living in North Street will be closing tomorrow (Tuesday, January 31) as part of plans to move the business in a new direction.

Bekki Johnson, who owns the business with her partner Ant Bater, said: “We have always been looking to expand to a bigger premises as we quickly outgrew the space.

“We want to make more of a quirky emporium destination.”

Bekki is yet to find a location in the area which is suitable but due to the lease ending on the current shop, she decided the business will move to online trading.

The business was set up in May 2019 under the name A & B Antiques but was later changed to Fun Funky Living to represent the items up for sale.

For Bekki it was a surprise to see the business grow so fast.

“We had no idea it would and had no expectation,” she said.

“We never expected to have so much scope to be able to get really cool things and to have such nice customers.”

During its time in Stamford the business has featured on the BBC programme Money for Nothing.

Bekki will be selling items through the website www.funfunkyliving.com which was set up during lockdown.
