Rutland County Show 2021 will be replaced by the Festival of Food and Farming

A new-look event is set to replace this year’s Rutland County Show.

With continued uncertainty over when coronavirus restrictions will finally be lifted, event organisers are having to adapt the show’s usual format.

The Festival of Food and Farming will take place at Rutland Showground on Sunday, July 11.

It will feature an array of stalls and entertainment but will not include any livestock judging this year.

Chairman of the Rutland Agricultural Society, David Wood, said: “This year we are being as creative as possible to deliver the best event we can given the tough constraints we are under.”

Admission will be £10 for the public or free for members of the agricultural society, which costs £8 to join.

Visitor numbers may be limited depending on Covid-19 guidelines at the time.

Confirmed attractions so far include a farrier display, heavy horses and a sheep show.
