Adam Croft releases fifth book in Rutland crime series, Moment of Truth
A best-selling author has released the fifth book in his Rutland crime series.
Moment of Truth written by Bedfordshire-based author Adam Croft was released on December 16.
Adam, 36, said: "It's always exciting to see the reaction to a new book. There's always a big gap between me writing it and it being released into the world, and it's very satisfying to see readers loving the book."
It is the fifth book in his Rutland crime series and begins when a man is found dead in the judge’s chair inside the Great Hall of Oakham Castle.
Fictional investigators at Rutland Police discover the victim was a charitable, public-spirited man and struggle to find anyone with a motive to kill him and their only lead takes them into dark territory, far from the small county.
The Rutland crime series started in 2020 and Adam is hoping for similar success to the other four books - What Lies Beneath, On Borrowed Time, In Cold Blood and Kiss of Death.
When asked about how many more books readers can expect, he said: "All I can say right now is there are plenty more to look forward to."
Adding: "I think I'm feeling less pressure now. As the series continues to grow and becomes even more popular, it gives me increasing confidence that I'm not mucking it up."
Like the fourth book, the audio book for Moment of Truth will be narrated by Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne.
Adam has also seen progression with the film rights to the novels but has to remain tight-lipped at the moment.
Moment of Truth is available to buy from bookshops in the Rutland and Stamford area.
