Solar panel plans for Brooke and Market Overton in Rutland
Two new planning applications could add another 269 panels to the area.
An application for 148 ground-mounted panels near Brooke in Rutland also includes 40 roof-mounted panels and a further 20 on a wall.
If installed, the 209 panels on a workshop near America Lodge, south of Brooke, could have a 6.7 megawatt output. The application has the planning reference 2022/0576/FUL.
A second application proposes 61 panels at The Old Barn in Main Street, Market Overton.
These would be roof-mounted, split over the main property roof and over the swimming pool.
There would be two Tesla battery storage systems linked to the panels and two electric vehicle charging points. Output is estimated to be 23 kilowatts.
Anyone wishing to look at the full plans can search for the reference 2022/0608/FUL on the Rutland County Council planning applications web page.
People are entitled to give feedback to the council on their support for, or opposition to, the plans.
Residents living in Exton and in Essendine are facing applications for much larger installations, with the potential for hundreds of solar panels.
An application by Econergy earmarks Exton Estate farmland next to Barnsdale Avenue, while a large-scale scheme from Windel Energy and Canadian Solar puts Essendine at its centre.
