Convenience store Costcutter and watch repair shop L Chapman Repairs to open in Stamford on Saturday
Two new businesses are set to open their doors in Stamford on Saturday (July 11).
Emily Rosa Ranjini is set to open a new Costcutter convenience store in Green Lane, creating four new jobs in the process.
Stamford MP Gareth Davies (Con) will officially open the new look store with a ribbon cutting at 9.30am. The Costcutter team will welcome shoppers on the day and will invite them to enter a raffle to win three fantastic Amazon prizes including a Fire Tablet, an Alexa Echo Dot and a gift card.
Keen to offer local shoppers a greater range of fresh food and the option of doing a ‘full shop’ closer to home, Emily Rosa Ranjini, who has been in retail for the past 18 years and also owns two other stores in the area, bought the unit next door so she could double the size of the store.
As well as a wide range of products including Co-op products, the store will also feature a Costa Coffee machine, a F’real milkshake machine and a One-Shot self-serve ice cream machine.
To help keep shoppers and her staff safe during the Covid-19 pandemic, Emily has ensured a range of safety measures are in place including facilities so customers can sanitize their hands before and after shopping, a one-way system and clear signage and floor stickers to help shoppers keep a safe distance apart.
Emily said: “I’d like to thank our customers for bearing with us during the refurbishment work and hope they agree it has been worth the wait. I’m confident our new range and offering will really appeal to existing and new shoppers alike. We can’t wait to hear what our shoppers have to say.
“Now more than ever, we want to support our local community to ensure they have access to everything they need during these challenging times. By extending the store and our product range I’m delighted we are now able to provide local shoppers with everything they need for a ‘full shop’ right here in their local store.”
On the same day, watch repair specialist L Chapman Repairs store will be opening inside Morrisons in Uffington Road, run by former gymnastics instructor Ross Chapman.
And on Monday (July 13), the refurbished branch of Age UK in High Street, Stamford, will also reopen at 10am. It comes after it was announced the Bourne branch of the charity shop is unlikely to reopen at all.
