New village sign unveiled in Lyddington
Lyddington’s new village sign was unveiled on Saturday by Peter Lawson, past chairman of Arts for Rutland.
The sign was carved, in solid oak, by Peter Moralee, locally connected woodcarver, and erected by Michael Wilkins of the Rutland Workshop.
It was funded by the Arts Council’s Accessing Rutland’s Museums project managed by Rutland County Council. County Council leader Roger Begy (Con) was also present for the unveiling.
Parish Council chairman Ian Canadine said: “Peter has carved a magnificent sign; Lyddington will be proud of it for many years.”
