New website is one-stop hub for residents, businesses and visitors in the Deepings area
Business owners in the Deepings area will receive a boost after a new, locally-funded website went live.
The Deepings.co.uk site launched on Thursday, June 25, and encourages residents to shop local and help boost the local economy.
Packed with information for residents and visitors, the website lists business and services available in the Deepings and surrounding villages, as well as providing details on where to find local amenities.
The hub also offers a visitor guide, history of the area and local walks.
Andy Pelling, chairman of the Deepings Business Community (formerly the Deepings Business Club), was instrumental in securing funding from InvestSK, which contributed to the build and design of the website.
He said: “The aim of the website is to offer residents and visitors a single space where they can go to discover what’s going on in the Deepings and find out about local amenities and services, and to support our business community by helping them raise their profile, attract customers and stimulate local economic growth.
“There is a strong emphasis on ‘Love Deepings ’- our own ‘support local ’initiative and we are encouraging business owners in the Deepings and surrounding villages to get in touch with us soon as we are offering a free listing to every local business as well as other initiatives to help them grow their business.”
The website is designed to be an invaluable tool for visitors too as it lists all the shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs - as well as key events that happen in the area, such as the annual raft race.
Andy added: “We hope the website will encourage visitors to come to the Deepings to enjoy what our lovely town and villages have to offer. Now the lockdown rules are beginning to relax, there is no better time for people to start thinking about what to do now they can get out and about - and the new website is a great place to start.”
The website is also home of The Deepings Business Community where business owners can find out when networking events are being held and get involved in the annual Deepings Business Awards.
Andy said: “We were fortunate to receive a grant from InvestSK to part fund the website and Deepings Business Community provided the rest of the money needed to build it. During the lockdown period we have been working hard behind the scenes with Deeping website builder Productive Design and we are really pleased with the result.
“I really do encourage you to take a look. We expect the site to evolve as more local businesses come on board.”
