Stamford nursery, The Mulberry Bush at St Augustine's, in Irnham Road, kicks off 10th anniversary year with 'Good' Ofsted rating
A Stamford day nursery was given an extra reason to celebrate its 10-year anniversary after being rated good in its latest Ofsted inspection.
The Mulberry Bush at St Augustine’s, in Irnham Road, was rated good overall in a report released last week following a January inspection.
It received the same rating in all four areas - quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
The report highlighted a ‘family feel’ at the nursery which has a capacity for 57 children aged one to four.
“Staff speak very positively about the relationship the team has,” it said.
“This, in turn, contributes to the good experiences that the children receive.”
They said staff knew the children well and encouraged children to share thoughts and ideas which helped raise children’s confidence and self-esteem, and inspired 'a positive attitude to learning'.
"We have always had the ethos that the most important thing we can do for our little people is support their emotional well-being, thus promoting self-confidence and self-esteem," said manager Gina Jones.
"With these, children will thrive and succeed, so we are so pleased to have this highlighted in the report."
It was also noted that children with additional needs made 'good progress', and also praised the nursery's safeguarding.
"The past two years have been difficult for all, but I am proud we remained open throughout to support our children, their families and the wider community," Gina added.
"This was achievable thanks to our small, dedicated and long-standing team who have been here since we opened in 2012.
"We have so many amazing memories and look forward to making many more in the years to come."
