Oakham Veterinary Hospital's open day will show people redevelopment work

Oakham Veterinary Hospital is throwing open its doors to allow people a ‘behind the scenes’ look at this impressive facility.

Purpose built back in 2005, when the practice first moved out of town, the hospital has seen huge investment and redevelopment in the last five years, which is now very near completion.

The small animal department was extended in 2016 to allow for more consult rooms, a larger waiting area, more surgery space and a completely new kennels and cattery area for inpatients.

This summer sees the finishing touches being applied to two years’ worth of building work in the

equine hospital. A brand new stud barn, student accommodation, client waiting area, new consult rooms, upgraded x-ray system, a redesigned theatre area and the introduction of CT will allow for a better flow of work throughout the practice.

On Saturday, June 15, the hospital will be open to the public between 11am and 4pm. Entry is free and parking will be available on site. There are self-guided tours of the hospital buildings with demonstrations and activities taking place throughout the day. This is your opportunity to meet the team and see what goes on beyond the waiting area and consult rooms.

Everyone is welcome, there will be refreshments available and any donations made on the day will be going to the East Midlands Air Ambulance.
