Rutland Community Ventures shares online activities and stories to keep people entertained during lockdown

A series of online workshops are helping vulnerable people to stay connected.

Rutland Community Ventures offers online stories and activities each week.

Creative projects including making a bird feeder are led by artist Jane Burditt while retired teacher Sue Ball takes charge of storytelling.

Director of Rutland Community Ventures, Ben Searle, said: “Like many organisations, we had to suspend out usual way of working and think about how we could make changes.

"Our workshops are aimed at helping people with dementia and other life challenges, but we realised that if we made interesting activities available through our website, anyone - healthy or challenged, isolated or with a family - could join in and benefit.”

The project is supported by the Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation and Rutland County Council.
